Jaycee’s Sunrise Senior Portrait Session at Navarre Beach
Sometimes the weather changes our plans, but that does not mean the new plan cannot turn out even better! Jaycee Rice, a beautiful senior graduating in 2027, originally planned to have her senior portraits taken at sunset. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm forced us to postpone the session. Instead of waiting for another evening, we met the following morning for a sunrise senior session at Navarre Beach, Florida—and I absolutely love how her pictures turned out!
Jaycee is also the stepsister of Sara Wiley, whom I photographed in June 2026. It is always special when a family returns and trusts me to photograph another important milestone. Jaycee is absolutely gorgeous, and the soft morning light at Navarre Beach was perfect for her.
Cap and Gown Pictures at Navarre Beach
Jaycee began her session wearing a beautiful white babydoll dress, which looked perfect beneath her bright royal-blue cap and gown. We used several different backgrounds near the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, including the wooden walkways, the pier, the dunes, and the shoreline.
We were even lucky enough to find a large piece of driftwood on the beach, giving us another gorgeous setting for her senior portraits. I love finding little surprises like this during a session because they add variety and make each gallery feel completely unique.
While we were photographing near the pier, we also got to watch a pod of dolphins attempting to steal bait from the fishermen. It was so much fun to watch, especially when the fishermen carefully pulled up their fishing gear to avoid hurting the dolphins. It was one of those memorable Navarre Beach moments that made an already special morning even better.
A Quick Break and an Outfit Change
Sunrise sessions may begin early, but Florida mornings can heat up very quickly! After finishing near the pier, we took a much-needed break. We all climbed into our cars, turned the air conditioning on high, and cooled down while Jaycee changed into her second outfit.
Once everyone was refreshed, we headed to the eastern side of Navarre Beach and started again. The new location gave us even more beautiful backgrounds and an entirely different look for the second half of her gallery.
We included Jaycee’s family in a few portraits and recreated some of the special senior picture ideas she had found on Pinterest. I always enjoy when seniors bring inspiration to their sessions. It helps me understand what they love while still allowing us to create photographs that feel personal and original.
Senior Photography at Navarre Beach, Florida
I have been asked to photograph quite a few senior sessions lately, and I am truly enjoying them. Between the outfit changes, traditional portraits, candid moments, cap and gown pictures, and family photographs, senior sessions create such beautiful and versatile galleries.
Of course, I once again took far too many photographs—but with Jaycee, the gorgeous sunrise light, and so many beautiful locations around Navarre Beach, it was nearly impossible to stop! I think Jaycee and her family are going to be very happy with her finished gallery.
Congratulations, Jaycee, Class of 2027! I cannot wait for you to see the rest of your senior pictures!
