Family Portraits
From Grandparents to Grandkids—Moments That Matter

There’s something truly special about photographing multiple generations in one frame—the love, the history, the stories all come together in such a meaningful way. This recent family session in El Dorado Hills, California, was exactly that: heartfelt, joyful, and filled with connection. We chose the Palladio as our location, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The outdoor mall, with its light stone buildings and beautiful open spaces, gave us the ideal backdrop—classic, clean, and elegant.
This session included the kids, their parents, and their beloved Omi and Opi (as the little ones lovingly call their grandparents). I always feel so honored to capture grandparents with their grandchildren—it’s such a tender relationship, and one that deserves to be remembered in photos.
There was just one small challenge: the temperature reached a sweltering 107 degrees that day! But everyone handled it like pros. We found a lovely spot in the shade, and between the soft, glowing light and the light-colored outfits they wore, the setting ended up working beautifully. The stone buildings reflected the light just enough to create a natural, airy glow that gave the entire session a soft, warm feel—despite the heat!
What stood out most to me was how easy and natural their love came through in every image. The laughter between generations, the gentle hugs, and the little moments of connection made for some truly timeless portraits. These are the kinds of photos that only get more meaningful with time.
It’s always my hope that families walk away with more than just a gallery—they leave with memories, a sense of togetherness, and images that capture who they are at this moment in time. This session was exactly that, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
