Today was such a whirlwind of joy and creativity! I got to capture the Elliot family as they celebrated two big milestones—family photos with their adorable 15-month-old daughter and the exciting launch of their new business. It was one of those stunning beach days where the sun was shining, a gentle breeze was in the air, and while the beach was buzzing with people, it was perfect for photography.


We had to do a little scouting for the right spot since the beach was surprisingly full of seaweed in every direction. But honestly, I’ve always found beaches to be such a dream backdrop for any shoot! The sky was a brilliant shade of blue, making everything pop beautifully. We started with Chelsea, the mom, who was rocking this gorgeous light pink dress and had this stunning dark hair that just framed her face perfectly. She was so warm and approachable, it felt like chatting with an old friend! I may have gone a little shutter-happy capturing her; she was just mesmerizing, whether she was smiling or deep in thought.


Once the little one woke up from her catnap, she was still a bit on the sleepy side, but honestly, we let her lead the way. And wow, was she a cutie! Those high cheekbones and curly brown hair made her giggles all the more endearing. Chelsea had dressed the family in lovely sunset colors—yellows, pinks, and oranges—which looked amazing against the stunning beach. It made such a difference in the photos and is definitely going on my “What to Wear” guide for future shoots.


The real magic happened when we started playing around! It was all about getting the little girl to smile and just have fun. Watching her run towards the water, curling up with laughter, was truly heartwarming. The entire family came together beautifully in every frame, radiating love and happiness as they embraced the moment. I walked away feeling so grateful for the chance to work with the Elliot family and can’t wait for them to see their gallery. I hope it captures the essence of their beautiful day, just like I felt it in the moment!
