Beach season 2026 is officially in full swing in Pensacola, Florida! The beach is sunny, warm, and packed with tourists—way more than I remember from this time last year. There were cars and people everywhere, and yes… I’ll admit it, I ended up running late to my session. That almost never happens to me! LOL. Still, I was so excited to be there, especially because I was meeting Brianna again. I had photographed her last year with her husband’s family, and I was so touched when she reached out while visiting Pensacola with her parents and siblings.
We had originally planned to shoot at one location, but it turned out to be right in the middle of the Pensacola Beach Renourishment Project—definitely not the dreamy backdrop we had in mind. So we quickly pivoted, hopped back in our cars, and headed east in search of a quieter spot. Thankfully, it worked out perfectly. The beach was nearly empty, and we still had plenty of time to capture beautiful images before sunset.
When I photograph large families, I always start with group shots to help everyone loosen up and have a little fun. It makes a big difference—especially with kids, because let’s be honest, they don’t stay still for long. And just as expected, the little ones ran off and did their own thing. I’ve learned not to stress about it—I just keep shooting, and they always come back. We moved all around the beach, by the dunes, and in the sand, capturing everything from full family shots to siblings, parents, and individual families.
This session was exactly what I hoped for. Brianna was just as joyful and easygoing as I remembered, always smiling and playing with her toddlers, and her family was just as sweet and relaxed. It was one of those sessions that flowed effortlessly, and honestly, I didn’t want it to end. I definitely took a lot of photos, but they all turned out beautifully. It was a great day, and I truly loved photographing this family.
