Sun, Sand, and Lifelong Friendship
Things have been wonderfully busy around here, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Each new client brings a story, and for me, that’s one of the best parts of being a photographer. I don’t just show up with a camera—I truly enjoy learning about the people I’m photographing and hearing why these moments matter to them. It makes every session more personal, more fun, and so much more meaningful.
This shoot was booked weeks ago by Alice, who reached out with such excitement. She told me that she and her two best friends—who have been inseparable since kindergarten—were planning a mini getaway from Missouri to Pensacola. This time, instead of just memories, Alice wanted to capture their friendship in photographs they could treasure forever. I knew right away this was going to be special.
We met bright and early at 7 a.m., hoping to beat the heat. Of course, Florida had other plans! The humidity was thick, my lens fogged for the first 15 minutes, and we were all quickly melting. But instead of letting it dampen the mood, the girls laughed their way through it—just as best friends always do. Their comfort with one another, the easy smiles, and the constant laughter made my job so enjoyable. We were all the same age too, which made the whole experience feel like hanging out with old friends rather than work.
We took our time, mixing in quick breaks in the car to cool off before heading to new spots. Our adventure even took us to Fort Pickens, though we arrived too early for the gates to be open. No problem—the girls slipped into beautiful dresses, and we made magic on a nearby stretch of beach instead. That’s one of the things I love most about Pensacola’s beaches—they’re often so peaceful and empty, giving us plenty of space to create.
In the end, the photos reflect exactly what I hoped: three lifelong friends, full of joy, laughter, and memories, captured against the beauty of the Gulf Coast. What a gift to be part of their story.
